What It's Like Being An Adult With Braces?

First of all, I just want to start off by apologizing lol. I want to say “I’m sorry” to anybody I ever joked about or made fun of when we were kids. Not saying that I did with any type of malicious intent, but I’m sure I joaned on somebody back in the day. Braces sucked! I don’t have them on anymore but I had them for a year and a half.

There’s pro’s and con’s to having braces at all, and then especially as an adult. I was fixing my teeth and fixing a problem in your life is never bad. They were expensive af and if I would’ve had them as a kid, my parents would have had to pay for them! haha. They did hurt but only for the first part and then after I would get them tightened. You have to change your diet and watch things you eat like apples and other hard things. Then, oh my god, any jokes you made to someone else as a child will come back tenfold to you as an adult! I won’t say the jokes cause I’m not about to have you guys flame me up! I’ve heard it all though. Then there is the after care once they come off. Retainers you have to wear for life. I lost my retainer while living in Barcelona and then had to wait to get a new one 5 months later and by then one of my teeth had shifted back.

All in all, it wasn’t so bad I guess. I just wish I had rather spent my money on straight veneers instead. I’ve gone through all of this annnd I’m still gonna get veneers. Dr. Mario in Columbia here I come baby!
