The 5 songs I'm listening to this week and why. 9/20/20 - 9/26/20

  1. Grafh - “UK Pen Game Challenge”

It would be unfair to mention any “Pen Game Challenge” song without acknowledging its creator East London Rapper Margs from Hackney. Margs songs “Pen Game” & “Pen Game 2” are both FIRE!!! The Challenge is based off Part 2 and its an instagram challenge so you take the beat from part 2 and rap over it for 60 seconds. That’s it, thats the challenge and you can find rappers known and unknown all over youtube and instagram doing their own… but this is GRAFH! You can be an NBA All Star & Champion and STILL not be Michael Jordan. So this is not a diss to any other rapper but Grafh is on another level mentally. Its crazy! I should really pay this man some money cause I know I downloaded a helluva lot of his songs and freestyles off Napster and really I could make a years list of songs just from Grafh but this is the one I got playing on repeat right now! Now that I’ve been to London and Dublin it makes this whole song even cooler to me! Go to YouTube and type in “Grafh Freestyle” and you cannot go wrong. You’re welcome. On Grafh’s song “Showing Off Again x Romans Revenge NY Freestyle” all he asked is “Just make sure you spell my name right on your blog… with a F!” I got you homie. G-R-A-F-H next time all you guys can spell it yourself!

  2. Panic! At The Disco - “High Hopes”

What’s not to love about this song? Have you never been hopeful about something? This song might as well be the theme of my life!!

“Had to have high, high hopes for a living

Shooting for the stars when I couldn't make a killing
Didn't have a dime but I always had a vision
    Always had high, high hopes
Had to have high, high hopes for a living
Didn't know how but I always had a feeling
I was gonna be that one in a million
    Always had high, high hopes”

My Goodness. This is motivation music!

It seems as though Brendon Urie is the last remaining member of Panic! At The Disco lol but the music keeps getting better and better so… Cheers mate! Panic! is a solo act.

  3. Kevin Gates - “Perfect Imperfection”

I was walking the track at the Oregon State Penitentiary with my man Dennis. Dennis is cool as hell. I’m not sure if he’s doing life or not but I know he’s been down a long time. Dennis was the flyest guy in the whole prison. This man had like 100 pairs of shoes! Shoes from the streets, ones I had never heard of yet. Sometimes he had shoes before they even came out! This is extremely difficult to do in prison when they give you a catalog and you only order from that. Well they had just allowing inmates to buy mp3 players. It’s crazy that they had us listening to CD’s, in some places thats still all they got. Dennis was telling me about this new rapper named Kevin Gates and I just felt his music from day 1. This song “Perfect Imperfection” is from the Luca Brasi 2 mixtape and its just wonderful. I used to try to hide all my mistakes and my past because I was ashamed and then I learned to embrace it and now I wear it like amour. While I am certainly not proud of all of my past actions, I AM proud of the man I am, the man it made me, the man I’ve become.

  4. Greyskull - “Pretty in Ink”

I’m a fan of punk music too! Rob does it all don’t forget. I found this song today actually haha while doing research into Panic! At The Disco. I don’t know how but Wikipedia helped haha. I really like this song, hence why it’s on the list. I’m listening to it on repeat. I can’t find much info on this band and the video associated with this song is a live version. If they never made any more music, I thank them for this gem!

  5. Clover Cage - “On My Mind”

Found this song in a youtube comment section!! There is so much music in the world and so much of it is really good! This is a new artist and it’s different and I really like it. Hope to hear a lot more from this artist!
