The 5 songs I'm listening to this week and why. 7/19/20 - 7/25/20

  1. Armin van Buuren - “Hollow” (feat. AVIRA and Be No Rain)

World famous Dutch DJ is my favorite Dutchman next to my boy Mitch (instagram @m.meeusen). His list of hits goes on and on and goes back years and years. This is a club song for sure and I like the beat and the way the vocals echo. This is the type of song you could listen to on repeat while laying in your bed annnd I do!

  2. DJ Kay Slay - “Wild One” (feat. Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Kevin Gates & Meet Sims)

The chorus is something that we have all felt at one time or another in our life. Giving everything we have to someone or something and then for whatever reason from that person. I never did understand how someone you would do anything for could hate on you but it happens! Being sang by Meet Sims (who I have never heard of before or since actually lol) the chorus is the standout in this song for sure. Plus three of my favorite rappers. Win, Win, Win!

  3. Future - “Turn On The Lights”

One of Future’s first hit song is so unlike his music now and its amazing. I love Future but most of his music is about doing drugs and hooking up with chicks and spending money haha and this one is basically a love song! “I can dig it” says the hopeless romantic in me.

  4. Christina Perri - “Human”

OK, truth time. I am a Christina Perri fan. I first heard her singing “A Thousand Years” in the one Twilight movie and yes I watched all 5 movies and yes I read all the books and yes “New Moon” suuucked!!! haha Team Edward over here but anyways this song is perfect for anyone because we all are only human and we don’t have to perfect. It’s ok to mess up and sometimes we will fail but we shall rise again!

  5. Sugarcult - “Stuck In America”

I was watching the movie “Van Wilder” the other day and this song is from the soundtrack. It sounds like every song that was in a high school or college movie in the 90’s and 2000’s. It’s a super catchy song and its ironic that it describes my current life situation as well.
