How to Get A Job on Svalbard Part 2!

After so many comments on and views of my “How to Get A Job on Svalbard Part 1” on YouTube, I made a Part 2. In this video I go more into detail about how to get a job and I answer a few questions that people have asked me on social media about Svalbard.

I want to stress to everyone that even though it is true that you do not need a visa to live and work on Svalbard, you WILL need a tourist/visitor visa to Norway to get there. There are no direct flights to Svalbard so you have to go through Oslo and you will have your passport/visa checked there. However, all you have to do is get a visa that allows you to just visit Norway and then once you are in Norway, you can fly up to Svalbard and stay as long as you like.

For example let’s say you get a 3 month tourist visa to Norway. When you enter Norway you can then go to Svalbard and work for 20 years if you want. Be aware though that once you stay on Svalbard past that 3 month window, whenever you fly back down to mainland like Oslo, you might have to leave Norway because then you would be over your time allowed. Does that make sense? You had a 3 month visa to Norway and that would now be expired. Only Svalbard is visa-free.

In this video below, I put a ton of information in the description. There is a Facebook group that posts available jobs in Longyearbyen, other videos I have done before, and links to all my socials if you wanna holler at me. I hope this is helpful to anyone that might want to do more than visit Svalbard. Living there was such a wild adventure. I really cherish it. Enjoy everyone and hit me up if you have any other questions. I answer everything!
